It appears that Texas Parks & Wildlife has scheduled a fish relocation to Boerne Lake for July 2 (weather permitting). This means a fresh variety of fish, of all different sizes, will be moved from a nearby state natural areas straight into the 200-acre lake right here in Boerne.

This big news started with one local resident: Michael Owens, who recently founded the Boerne/Kendall County Fishing Facebook group.

After reaching out directly to Texas Parks & Wildlife, Michael got the official word. Here’s what he had to say:

TPWD has scheduled a fish relocation for July 2nd (weather permitting). They’ll be moving a variety of fish of different sizes from a lake in a State Natural Area directly into our 200-acre lake here in Boerne.

Michael shared the news with his online group, where local anglers share tips, catch photos, and updates about Boerne’s fishing scene. If you’re not a member yet, you can join the group here.

As we wait for the fish to roll in, you can check out our full Fishing in Boerne Guide for tips on where to cast your line and what’s biting around town.

Things are looking up for Boerne water lovers this summer!
