While I love a packed itinerary to a new and exotic place, some of my best girl’s days have been in a historical town with great shopping, delicious food and drinks.
With the Hill Country Mile having coffee, shopping, and restaurants within an easy stroll, you can spend most of the day parked once and spend the day wandering this beautiful town to discover great finds and make lasting memories. Even on the days we are looking to slow down the pace of a busy main street, there are wineries, outdoor spaces and plenty of places to create a girls’ day you’ll love.

Looking for something in right downtown? Try The Dienger Trading Co. The historic Dienger combines a café, bakery and boutique, which means you can start the morning with coffee and breakfast and immediately transition into your day of shopping & fun without having to get back in the car.

For an outdoor feel, head to Cibolo Nature Center or Joshua Springs Park & Preserve instead. Each location’s trails wind through the Texas Hill Country providing breathtaking views of the hills and creeks. Either of these locations offer a great place to reflect, recharge, and remember times with friends.
Time to un-wine-d
Once you’ve shopped, eaten, and created memories with an activity, it’s time for the part of the day when nobody should be checking the time quite so much.
For a downtown wine stop, Lost Oak Cellars offers a wine bar and tasting-room experience just off Main Street – it’s even opened late. Its location makes it easy to work into a downtown-focused afternoon before heading to dinner.
For a group that wants to stay right along the Hill Country Mile, DeVino Cellars is another option that combines a wine shop and tasting room, with a selection that includes imported and hard-to-find bottles.
Dinner: Make it the main event
For a more elevated girls’ dinner experience, head to Valeria Restaurant where Chef Keith Kuhn’s restaurant focuses on European-inspired cooking, including handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas, seafood and steaks, with a wine-focused menu and full bar. The Lounge at Valeria also offers cocktails and a daily happy hour from 4–6 p.m. and stays open late.
If your groups is looking to stay closer to downtown instead, select from options like The Kendall Restaurant or Cypress Grille is right in the historic heart of Boerne. The Kendall Restaurant is located inside the historic Kendall property and focuses on Hill Country-inspired dining, making it a convenient choice if you are staying there as well. Cypress Grille is a great option directly on the Hill Country Mile providing an upscale casual dining and wine bar experience everyone is sure to enjoy.
For a girls’ day, I’d make reservations ahead of time, especially for a weekend.
Keep the night going with cocktails
If everyone still has some energy left after dinner, head to some of Boerne’s best spots for craft cocktails, wines, and spirits. Take time to soak in the day’s memories and reconnect with friends away from the hustle of the daily chaos.

For something a little more laid-back and outdoorsy, Salvador DOBBS sits along Cibolo Creek at 512 River Rd and has an outdoor patio and full cocktail program. It’s a good option when the group wants to keep talking instead of moving on to a packed itinerary.
Stay overnight and turn it into a real getaway
Whether you’re a local looking for a staycation, hosting visitors from out-of-town, or traveling from afar to enjoy the best of Boerne, staying the night makes the weekend feel much less rushed.
For a walkable downtown stay, The Kendall is an especially convenient option. The historic inn sits near Main Plaza and Cibolo Creek, with the Hill Country Mile just outside the property. It has 34 individually designed rooms, suites and cottages, plus on-site dining.
For a more traditional hotel experience, The Bevy Hotel Boerne is another option just off I-10 and a short drive from downtown.
