Under the Fig Tree Boutique Closing Location in Historic Theis House

A beloved Boerne boutique is closing its doors at the end of the month. Under the Fig Tree, which has been a staple at the historic Theis House, announced that February 28, 2025, will be their final day in the space.

In a heartfelt message to customers, owner Lauren Watson and her mother, Martha, expressed deep gratitude for the support, friendships, and community they’ve built over the past four years. While they are sad to leave the space, they shared that new doors are opening for their boutique.

Final Sales and Fixture Liquidation

As they prepare to close, Under the Fig Tree is offering major discounts on inventory, fixtures, and furniture. They will be closed for a few days this week but will reopen Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm with 65% off select items.

Some of the larger pieces up for sale include:

  • Custom-built porch glider – Originally $2,600, now $1,300
  • Oversized mirror – Originally $600, now $250
  • Longhorn cornhole boardsOriginally $300 (sold)

Customers looking to purchase furniture or fixtures will need to arrange for pickup and assistance with loading large items.

What’s Next?

We reached out to Lauren and she shared that she is “moving into a space at Shoppes at 222.”

It looks to be a scaled down version of the current boutique. She explained that most of her locally made products will move with her, along with select clothing.

“Mom and I will still be a part of the store,” she said. “We will work one weekend a month and hoping to turn those weekends into a party!”

Moving day is currently set for March 3rd and 4th.

The boutique’s time in Theis House is now part of its storied history, and the owners expressed gratitude for the space and the community that has supported them.

Let’s get out and help them finish out their last weekend at the Theis House strongly. There’s things to buy and drinks to drink!
