Pools Around Town

Want a pool to take the kids to or to lounge around at? Here are a few in town you should know about.
Boerne Municipal Pool
Open from late May through early August, the Boerne Municipal Pool is a community favorite with a lap swim area, diving board, renovated showers, and shaded picnic seating. It’s also one of the best places in town for affordable swim lessons and family nights. They even have movie nights throughout the summer!

Admission: $4 for residents, $5 for non-residents
Joshua Creek Ranch Resort Pool
Yes, you can get a resort pass to cool off here even if you’re not a member. For $40 per day (adults), Joshua Creek Ranch gives non-members access to their pool and creek area. There’s also a hot tub and the full-service Shooters Cantina open Thursday through Sunday with burgers, tacos, and drinks.

Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club
This beautifully renovated pool just reopened for the summer and is available exclusively to club members. It features beach-style entry, waterslides, new pool furniture, and extended hours from 11 am to 8 pm, Tuesday through Sunday.

Natural Water Spots

If you’re more into rivers, lakes, and creeks, Boerne has some gorgeous natural areas that let you soak in the Hill Country landscape.
Boerne City Lake
This 189-acre lake is perfect for swimming, paddle boarding, or just relaxing by the shore. There’s a boat ramp, fishing pier, disc golf course, and picnic areas. You can even rent gear through Hill Country Paddle Sports. With a rocky beach area, this is probably our favorite natural area to swim at in Boerne.

Guadalupe River State Park
A Hill Country classic, this state park boasts four miles of river frontage perfect for swimming, tubing, or just dipping your feet. On land, enjoy hiking, picnicking, and ranger-led programs. Admission is $8 for adults and free for kids 12 and under.

James Kiehl River Bend Park
Tucked away near Comfort, this lesser-known gem along the Guadalupe River is ideal for swimming, relaxing, or floating. The park also has scenic walking trails and shaded picnic areas. There’s no drinking water on site, so bring your own.

Kreutzberg Canyon Natural Area
Just down the road from Cave Without a Name, Kreutzberg Canyon features 1,700 feet of Guadalupe River frontage for wading, swimming, and enjoying nature. You’ll also find trails, wildlife blinds, and some of the best views around.

Where to Get Swim Lessons

Boerne Municipal Pool
The city offers swim lessons in 30-minute sessions over two weeks with certified instructors. Classes are available for all ages—from toddlers to teens—at resident-friendly pricing.
Vista Swim Academy
Tucked away off Highway 46, Vista Swim is one of Boerne’s hidden gems. Locally owned and beloved by parents, Vista focuses on water safety and confidence-building with small class sizes and intensive Swim Blitz mini-camps.
